La scourtinerie depuis 1882
The Scourtinerie was founded in 1882 by Ferdinand and Marie Fert. The scourtin is a filter for olive oil. Ferdinand invented the first scourtin weaving machine. For five generations, the Fert family has made scourtins woven from natural coconut fiber.
Since the great freeze of 1956 they are used as decorative placemats with a large choice of sizes and colors. Come to visit the traditional workshop and the scourtin museum.
